What is something about yourself that most people do not know?

I’m a “treasure hunter” by nature, and this is reflected in my hobbies. I pan for gold, globe-trot Google Earth, go on nature walks, peruse antique stores, and scuba dive. The world is full of unique items waiting to be noticed. I am always looking for the next remarkable thing.

If you are having a difficult day, what helps?

Unwind with my family, then sleep on it. Most of my stress does not carry over into the next day. And for the ones that do, I tend to wake up with better insight and solutions than what I went to bed with.

Say you are forced to completely change your career, what would you choose to do instead?

Switching gears completely, I’d leave my home state of Colorado and move towards water. I’d seek a career that allows me to work with marine life and focus on ocean conservation.

Tell us about your ideal vacation. If you could only bring a backpack for the week, what would you bring?

My ideal vacation is anywhere I have not been before. I’d bring the necessities (phone, wallet, keys) and my camera – the rest will sort itself out.

When you were 10 years old, what did you imagine you would be doing now?

Growing up, I wanted to design backgrounds and environments for video games. The freedom and room to play within world-building totally captured me. This is what led me to a degree in architecture, as I wanted to continue to explore the world spatially. I get to apply these skills and passions at Custom Cubes every day – something I am very grateful for!

Favorite movie?

Just one?! Impossible. I love all movies bizarre and macabre. Joker by Todd Phillips is fantastically dark, Death Proof by Quentin Tarantino is a wild ride, and The Witch by Robert Eggars is filled with suspense.
